Reversing my opinion
After several more days of steep, the chemical, nasty taste and smell have disappeared. I now find this to be an excellent flavor, especially when combined with VT warm custard. It's odd that the several other cheesecake flavorings I have didn't have an initial off-putting smell or taste.

Maybe I got a bad batch.
With all the positive reviews here and other respected sites, I find this to have a chemical, burnt taste and smell. Even after a couple days of warm UC treatment.
