- Strata was first bred as X-331 in 2009 by IndieHops and Oregon State Univeristy. It advanced through many trials due to its strong disease resistance, vigorous growth, and complex aroma. Now it is poised to be a standout among a new generation of varieties: many layers of fruit flavor, anchored by a dried chili-cannabis-funk without cattiness or oiliness. Late hot side additions bring out layers of tropical and bright fruit flavors, while dry-hopping yields more grapefruit and cannabis.
