Smooth Custard
4% Smooth Custard I don’t get really any similarities between this and the original VC v1 or v2. This is most certainly a vanilla custard, it might be the creamy vanilla in here, but it’s not a “egg in your face” custard. It’s mildly eggy, it’s dense, and it’s got the distinct vanilla. After a 10 day steep this almost had a cake batter vibe in there. Like rich smooth bakery, but not overpowering. I notice it in the background at 4%. As soon as I tasted this, creamy vanilla and cookie crumble, I knew they would all pair nicely, so I did 4% smooth custard, 3% cookie crumble, 2% creamy vanilla and 1% frosting (cap) which turned out really nice. A simple 4321 that you could use for fruits, bakeries, nuts, caramel, butterscotch etc. This isn’t caps vanilla custard revisited, it’s its own entity. Again, like the creamy vanilla, I immediately purchased a bigger bottle. Is it a must have? No, but if you’re a custard/bakery dessert person, I’d grab it. It’s definitely going to get used a lot in my stash.
