    Very present Butyric Acid

Posted by SessionDrummer on 13th Nov 2021

**Lemon Cheesecake (SSA) 1% (11-6-21)** -- First things FIRST, if you are BA sensitive stay AWAY from this one. A very definite Butyric Acid note from this one, and being not BA sens. it didn't throw me off. Unlike other reviewers, I really didn't get a lot of Lemon from this one, and for my tastes it was overwhelmed by the creamy, and BA notes. The cheesecake was more of a creamy style like LA's Cheesecake, and although BA was in there, it didn't convincingly portray the sour/sharp notes. I did get some graham crust notes, but again, lower in the mix. The main note (beyond the BA) was a nice creamy body that COULD be cheesecake-ish, depending on your tastes. The flavor wasn't terrible, but it never really took off for me, or my tastes. It was plenty strong at 1%, mid leveled sweet, and was certainly very creamy with good mouthfeel. The sum of it's parts, just left me rather "Meh". Again, not terrible, but not great, and would surely work in mixes, but probably not as your main Cheesecake player. Going to meh it @ **6.4/10**.

    Cheesecake with a little lemon

Posted by Jennifer Winstead on 13th Sep 2020

Im extremely sensitive to lemon notes that are acidic so for me this was perfect. There is no acidic note it's mild lemon flavor with no lemon skin or peel. This is a cheesecake not a lemon meringue pie so expect the lemon to be a back note. This flavor has butyric acid in it and it's noticeable off the smell Im not highly sensitive to that note but if you are sensitive to it I recommend you steep this flavor especially if your mixing it solo. The crust in this cheesecake is mild but I do pick up some butter notes that I'm guessing is part of the crust composition. If you like a heavy crust you will likely need to build that up when you mix this flavor. The mouthfeel is medium range and it's sweetness level is above mid range but not sticky sweet. I mixed it solo at 5% for testing and in a subohm mix I recommend around 3% Steep time on this is 3 to 7 days minimum and if you have patience then try to go a full 10 to 14 days. The lemon pops it's head out a little more with steep and the butyric notes fall back.
