    Fried Dough

Posted by Casey Strong on 23rd Jan 2016

This is what you want for any fried dough dessert, learn how to use it, it doesn't take much, also needs other bakery notes to shine, a little meringue and some other stuff and you have yourself a sweet fried dough treat!

    Great Product!

Not entirely sure what flavor as a stand alone they tried to acheive here, but its calledbfor in several recipes I use. I particular a bronuts clone. Couldnt imagine it without joy.

    Was disappointed

Posted by JoanJ on 16th Jan 2016

I believed the hype and also ...imagine Fairground which I found quite off as far as descriptions go... I expected cotton candy, perhaps some fried desserts. I got a little of the cotton candy but more of a graham or something. Started at 2% in 1 bottle and 3% in another. Found both miserable so diluted the 2% bottle to half and still nothing notable and nothing I wanted to use as a stand alone. I can see using this in small doses... say .25-.3% to add another layer or mysterious quality but I cannot see myself buying this one again.

Not as good as I thought from reviews

Posted by Matt on 7th Dec 2015

Don't get me wrong, it's tasty and I've made a lot of it as a single flavor recipe. I do find it a bit bland though, the flavor is good but weak for me. At 2% I get more funnel cake with powdered sugar. At 3% I start to get more of a cotton candy taste. I could see it being used as a sweetener at 1-2%. It IS good on it's own but not as much as I hoped from reading others' experience with it. I dove in and got the 30ml cause they were out of the smaller bottle and reviews were great but at such low % I'll have this bottle forever. Worth a try but go for the smaller bottle to start just in case.

This is a hit or miss flavor

Posted by Mjag on 27th Nov 2015

It was a miss for me. I tried to like it and tried all the recipes but it tastes like stale beer. Most of those recipes are better without it for my taste. I don't think there is any harm in trying it, you may be on the side that likes it. I don't think it is something that will make or break a recipe though and can be skipped all together.

Smells like old beer..but works great

Posted by Clint M. on 26th Nov 2015

Got this because of two recipes I found. I was told it smelled like stale beer and I was worried. Sure enough it smells like beer but in a mix, it is wonderful. Only mixed it as .5%

    Yes Baby!

This stuff rocks and is used at such a low percent. 0.5 to 1%. I have not tried it on it's own. I have used it in Banana pudding and Banana pie. Iced strawberry cake and danish types. I love the bakery cake funnel wildness it brings and how it helps flavors blend into yummyness!
