    Stash Necessity !!

Very versatile when looking for a light butterscotch with medium cream like texture. One of my fav, simple recipes is FLV Butterscotch @ 5%, FW Butterscotch ripple @ 2.5%, Cap Super Sweet @ 0.5%. Butterscotch Nirvana:) ... Add a little FW Butter Pecan for added dimension.

    Not bad at all

I bought this hoping to use it to add butterscotch notes to vanilla ice cream and cheesecake flavors, possibly standing on it's own as a sweet butterscotch juice. I tend to prefer milder flavored recipes, and this flavor is quite strong. It's perhaps a bit too sweet and buttery for my palate, but that might just be me (to be fair it's the only butterscotch flavor I've tried, so it might be the best). Imo best used in pretty small amounts to not overpower your core flavor in your recipe (just adding a little to Vanilla Bean Ice Cream will overpower it), and I personally wouldn't use it as a standalone flavor. But no real complaints, I definitely use it in one of my favorite recipes, it just doesn't seem as versatile as I'd hoped.

    The best Butterscotch Ripple!!!

Posted by John on 5th Dec 2017

Butterscotch Ripple FW is sweet (though not overly sweet) and creamy butterscotch awesomeness. I find that it needs another butterscotch to make it pop. I use Butterscotch FA for that (I've also used Caramel FA with great success). If you are looking for the old hard candy butterscotch flavor use some Natural Butterscotch FW (very smooth). Here is a quick recipe of mine I used for testing… Butterscotch Ripple FW 4% Vanilla Classic FA 2% Vienna Cream FA 2% Butterscotch FA 2% You can swap out Butterscotch FA for Caramel FA at the same percent or if you are going for that candy flavor use Natural Butterscotch FW instead of Butterscotch FA at the same percent. 3 recipes each with a distinct flavor. 7 day steep (at least) if you can let it steep for 3 weeks you will be rewarded. If you want a darker vanilla use Vanilla Bourbon FA at 1-1.5%. To make it less sweet drop the Vienna Cream to 1-1.5%. If you want more butterscotch flavor then up the Butterscotch FA to 3%. I can't tell you how this would taste with other companies flavors.

    Great Butterscotch flavor

This is hands down the greatest butterscotch flavoring out there. It serves as an all-in-one concentrate, or in a blend. Either way, how ever you use it, it's equally as valuable. And the great thing is, it tastes like a premium flavoring at a great price!

    The Ripple Effect

Posted by Richard Krueger on 29th Jun 2017

I picked up a 30ml bottle of this stuff a while back. I had it added to an order, just to put me over the Free Shipping threshold. I figured it was just another butterscotch and tossed it in the flavor cabinet. Well, I had an idea for a caramel coconut mix. and as i was writing down possibilities, i remembered the Butterscotch Ripple from Flavor West. So, I added that to the mix. Once i ironed out my ratios, i mixed a small batch. The first go-round was good but, not what i was shooting for. One thing that stood out, was the noticeable difference in the butterscotch. It seemed to lift itself in the mix nicely. So, I adjusted ratios and increased the Butterscotch Ripple just a smidgen. Now, I have a mix that I and a few others think is a winner in the candy dessert line. And I attribute the Great Flavor to the Butterscotch Ripple. I am planning an Ice Cream mix, with this as the main background flavor. The stuff is really a great add to any flavor cabinet. To hell with the 30ml. Just buy the 4oz, you'll be glad you did. Five Star Flavoring, in my opinion.

Can't believe I'm the first person to rate this...

I own just about every butterscotch made and this one is hands down my favorite. Here's a recipe I'm enjoying: (FW) WAFFLE 3% (INW) OR (JF) BISCUIT 1.25% *(FW) BUTTERSCOTCH RIPPLE* 2% (FLV) CREAM 2% (TPA) BUTTER .6% (FW) HAZELNUT .6% (FA) JOY .6% (CAP) SUPER SWEET .5% OPTIONAL (FA) MAPLE SYRUP .25-.50% FW waffle has quite a bit of maple syrup flavor already.
